From severely deteriorated buildings to a complete home
A substantial reconstruction involving roofs, masonry, services, and the transformation of a group of existing buildings.
I help foreign property owners communicate clearly with Portuguese builders, tradespeople, suppliers, and other renovation professionals, whether you're rebuilding a ruin or carrying out a simpler interior restoration.
Book a free 15-minute introductionI've spent around 15 years restoring and rebuilding houses in Portugal. These included major interventions on old and severely deteriorated buildings, as well as interior restoration and alteration work.
I've also spent more than a decade working professionally as a translator, and I speak Portuguese fluently. That combination means I can understand both the language and the practical construction context behind it.
I'm not offering renovation, architecture, or project-management services. I provide independent communication support, helping foreign owners understand what's being proposed, ask better questions, and reduce misunderstandings with the people doing the work.
You may need help with one confusing quotation, an upcoming builder meeting, or regular communication throughout a project.
Messages, calls, and explanations in clear English and Portuguese, with enough construction experience to understand the context.
Work through Portuguese descriptions of works, materials, quantities, and unfamiliar building terms.
Organise your questions, priorities, and terminology before speaking to builders, architects, suppliers, or tradespeople.
I can join an important call remotely to help both sides understand the practical points being discussed.
You don't need to be rebuilding a ruin. Kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, repairs, alterations, and interior restoration can all create communication problems too.
Learn the Portuguese you actually need for trades, materials, measurements, defects, deadlines, and decisions.
These are my own projects. The photographs aren't here to sell building work; they're here to show why I can follow a serious construction conversation.

Old roof timbers and unfinished masonry became a finished living space while the character of the building remained visible.
